OTTUMWA. Meredith L. GANTZ, 71, 419 S. Pocahontas, died this morning at Davis County Hospital. Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa.

Born in Jefferson County Sept. 21, 1900, son of Henry and Emma MORRIS GANTZ. A retired Jefferson County farmer, farmed near Abingdon most of his life. Lived in Ottumwa since 1966.

Married Aug. 25, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant, Mamie DAVIS. Member East End U.P. Church and Abingdon Masonic Lodge No. 104.

Survived by widow, one daughter, Mrs. Patricia WAGNER of Ottumwa; four grandchildren; one brother, Frank GANTZ of Ft. Madison; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel FAIRCHILD of Ottumwa, Mrs. Kathaleen McCULLOUGH of Fairfield, and Mrs. Genevieve SANDEN of Blakesburg.
