BATAVIA. Last rites were held earlier this week in Kingsville, Tex., for Naval CPO James Riley "Pug" DAVIS, 34, who died Mar. 12 in Corpus Christi Naval Hospital following surgery... Bur. in Chamberlin Cemetery at Kingsville.
Native of Batavia.... grad. Batavia HS in 1954 and entered the Navy in Nov. 1955..... married to the former Earlene McGUIRE at Barnesville, Ga., in Mar. 1963. She survives, with two sons, Dennis and Ronnie at home; and four daughters, Jamie, at home; Mrs. Diane RODRIQUES, San Bruno, Calif.; Mrs. Vickie LaFLAM, Alameda, Calif., and Mrs. Betty FITZGERAL, Emeryville, Calif.
Other survivors include his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey WHITMORE, Batavia; two brothers, Jerry DAVIS, Fairfield, and Larry DAVIS, Batavia; two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte PRATT, Eldon, and Mrs. Jacqueline EAKIN, Batavia, two stepsisters, Mrs. Juanita SHIPLER, Batavia, and Mrs. Mary RUGGLES, Phoenix, Ariz., two stepbrothers, Ralph WHITMORE, Norwalk, Calif., and John WHITMORE, Albuquerque, N.M.; his grandmother, Mrs. Laura FUNK, Ottumwa, and two grandchildren.
