TOWN AND COUNTY: The North Nebraska Eagle, of August 20th, contains the following brief notice of the death of a gentleman well known to all old settlers of Jefferson County: “Col. C. C. Van, one of the pioneers of Cedar County and well known throughout North Nebraska, died at his home near St. James last week.”
