A JEFFERSON COUNTY PIONEER. The Dalles, Oregon, Itemizer of January 29th notes the death in Polk County, that state, of Jonathan Dyer, a pioneer settler of this county. Mr. Dyer died on the 21st ult. He was a native of Kentucky, and was in the 91st year of his age. Deceased came to Iowa in April, 1839, and entered land just this side of Cedar Creek on the Birmingham road. He was at one time the owner of what is now the Nathaniel Crawford farm, on both the east and west sides of that highway. Mr. Dyer resided here until 1852, when he removed to Oregon. One son, Nimrod Dyer, still resides in this county.
