DEATH OF FATHER ALLENDER. Word was received here Saturday of the sudden death that afternoon of Rev. Richard B. Allender at his home in Bloomfield, Iowa. He was 82 years old. Formerly lived in Buchanan township, this county, and was a brother of Sam Allender of this city, and of Jacob, of Salina. He left this county in 1854 when he entered the ministry of the Methodist church and for the past 16 or 17 years has lived in Bloomfield. Mr. Allender was a native of Pennsylvania and came to this county in 1839. For two years during the Civil War he was chaplain in the army and during that time his family made their home in this city…..His wife died in Bloomfield Apr. 7, 1883 and since then his oldest daughter has kept house for him. He leaves one other daughter in Des Moines and three sons, one in Bloomfield, one in Texas and one in Maryville, Missouri…..
