HE WAS A VETERAN SOLDIER.

Montgomery L. STEPHENSON died at the home of Mrs. Jane SALTS, a sister, near Brookville the 6th inst. He was a native of Indiana, born in 1815, but came to this founty many years ago. Mr. STEPHENSON was a soldier of the Civil War, a member of the Fortieth Indiana Infantry, and had an excellent military record. He was an unmarried man and really without a home, and had spent several years in the national home for soldiers at Dayton, O., and in the state home at Marshalltown. His body was interred in the Gantz cemetery near Brookville.
