BATAVIA, Ia. -- Mrs. Mary ALFRED, 92, Batavia, died Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at the Jefferson County hospital.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia in charge of the Rev. Kermit Black. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Fairfield.
Mrs. ALFRED was born March 13, 1871, the daughter of Asa and Sarah MALLEMS ROBERTS. She spent most of her life in Jefferson county. She was married first to William HEDGE and later to Ed ALFRED. Both preceded her in death.
Mrs. ALFRED was a member of the Batavia Christian church. She is survived by one son, Russell HEDGE, Batavia, with whom she had made her home for the past three years; one step daughter, Mrs. Helen COLEMAN, Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Harry BISHOP, Washington; and one brother, Ralph ROBERTS, Salina.
One son, one grandson, one stepgrandson, two sisters and one brother are deceased.
