Edwin Lewtellis ALFRED, son of Wm. & Hannah, born in Batavia May 9, 1867, died at his home in Batavia Dec. 24. In the spring of 1888 he started a barber shop in Batavia and was still in that business when stricken.

Married, Feb. 27, 1889, Miss Nell WILLIAMS. She died a month later. In 1894 married Miss Mollie NACE of Agency, who died in 1928. Later, in 1930, married Mrs. Mary HEDGE who survives.

Leaves a son Harry at Norwood, Ohio, and a daughter Mrs. Harry SLAGEL at Dallas, Tex. Two grandsons, Leonard ALFRED and Richard SLAGLE (sic); three brothers, George of Ottumwa, James of Burlington, and Steward of Eldon; one sister, Mrs. Emma BROWN of Burlington. Member Christian Church, Mason, &c.
