DEATH TAKES FRANK ACTON

BATAVIA, Ia.- Frank S. ACTON, 76, died at his home here this morning. A retired farmer, he had been in poor health since October, 1950.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Batavia Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Earl Erb. Burial will be in Ashland cemetery.

ACTON was born January 25, 1875 near County Line in Wapello county, the son of James J. and Mary ACTON. He was an active farmer in both Jefferson and Wapello counties until he moved to Batavia in 1943.

He was married to Katherine PEEBLER PARKER December 27, 1922, who survives. His first wife, Mamie, preceded him in death in 1913. One son, one brother and one sister also predeced him in death.

Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Bernard PEEBLER, Batavia, and the following stepchildren: Clifford and Keith PARKER, Batavia; Claude PARKER, Wichita, Kansas; Mrs. Ferne HILL and Mrs. Francis HITE, both of Batavia; and Mrs. Grace GOBLE, Wichita, Kansas.

Three grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Guy ACTON, Fairfield; Mrs. Bertha HITE and Mrs. Nellie LOY, both of Batavia, and Mrs. Cora PEEBLER, Delta, Colo.

Acton was a member of the Batavia Methodist church. The body is at the Campbell Funeral chapel.
