Mrs. James (Mary L. PUMPHREY) ACTON, 91, died Mon. at home of her daughter Mrs. Jess LOY in Batavia. Born Sept. 14, 1851 in Jefferson Co., Iowa. Spent her entire life in the Batavia community, and was married to James J. ACTON Oct. 30, 1869; he died in 1923. She was the last charter member of the County Line Methodist Church, and was a member of the Batavia Methodist Church at the time of her death.
Survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank HITE of Batavia; Mrs. James PEEBLER of Delta, Colo., and Mrs. Jess LOY of Batavia; two sons, Frank ACTON of Batavia and Guy ACTON of Eldon; and one sister, Mrs. Emma COPELAND of Selma. Preceded in death by husband, one son and one daughter. Campbell Funeral Home in Batavia. Ashland Cemetery.
