Rose Bandalene Tanner, 86, of Fairfield, and formerly of Erie, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at Jefferson County Hospital Living Care Center.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Burton Funeral Home in Erie, Pa., with the Rabbi John Bush officiating. Burial is in Anshe Hesed Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Temple Anshe Hesed Library, 930 Liberty Street Erie, PA 16502.

Mrs. Tanner was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Nathan and Amelia Reifler Bandalene. She married Morris Irwin Tanner Aug. 31, 1941, in Detroit. He died in 2002.

Mrs. Tanner was a graduate of Northern High School and attended Wayne University, in Detroit. She worked as a bookkeeper most of her life and was a member of Temple Anshe Hesed where she was librarian and Hebrew teacher.

She belonged to Hadassah and the Temple Sisterhood.

Survivors include one son, Dave Tanner of Fairfield; two daughters, Marcia Tanner Freeman and husband Marc of Fairfield, and Karen Tanner and husband Randy Perrin of Berkeley, Calif.; five grandchildnre; one brother, Kalman Bandalene of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two sisters, Sara B. Gendelman of Michigan and Gertrude B. Kline of Miami, Fla. and five grandchildren.
