William Marsh Reighard, 75, of Richland, died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at his home.

The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Trinity Friends Church in Richland, with the Rev. Jonathon Rosenthal officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post No. 504.

Masonic services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday followed by family visitation from 2-4 p.m. at Gould Funeral Home in Richland. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Keokuk County or Richland Lodge No. 38, AF and AM.

Mr. Reighard was born Jan. 1, 1930 in Washington, Iowa, the son of George C. and Sylvia M. Derby Reighard. He married Shirley Hardy in Iowa Falls Oct. 24, 1964.

Mr. Reighard was a lifelong Richland resident and graduated from Richland High School in 1947. Mr. Reighard worked road construction for Quad City Construction, Weaver Construction of Iowa Falls, as a construction superintendent for L. L. Pelling Co. of Iowa City, owned and operated Wm. Reighard Construction Co. from 1971-1992, operated Southeastern Multi-County (SEMCO) Landfill from 1975-1985 and co-owned the Richland Sand Company for several years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.

He was a member of the Trinity Friends Church, Richland American Legion Post No. 504 and Richland Lodge No. 38, AF and AM. Mr. Reighard began semi-retirement in 1992 by working part- time for V.D. Cole Construction Co. of Keosauqua.

Survivors include one son, Curtis "Pie" Reighard and wife Carol of Richland; three daughters, Lisa Amechazurra and husband Jess of Colorado Springs, Colo., Marsha Sheldon and husband Andy of Sidney, and Roxan Reighard of Lewisville, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Mr. Reighard was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul; one infant sister; and one infant brother.
