Donald Richard Milholin, 84, of Danville, formerly of Fairfield, died at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Danville Care Center.

A service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield, with Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating. His body has been donated to medical research, and burial of his cremains will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church.

Mr. Milholin was born Dec. 22, 1920, in Parnell, the son of Richard and Elsie Franklin Milholin. He married Mary Funk July 3, 1949, in Muscatine.

Mr. Milholin grew up in the Muscatine area, graduated from Muscatine High School and attended one year of Muscatine Junior College. He had lived in Fairfield since 1952. He was a contractor and real estate broker and owner of Milholin Real Estate for more than 40 years.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Milholin was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Lutheran's Men Group.

He also was a member of the Fairfield Clinton Masonic Lodge AF&AM 634, the American Legion, the Southeast Iowa Board of Realtors, Fairfield MLS, Multiple Listing Association and the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

His pastimes included spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Pamela Robinson of Danville and Judi Hip and husband Doug of Yuma, Ariz.; one son, Donald "D.R." Milholin and wife Kristy; one sister, Doris Nelms of Rochester, Minn.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
