Harold HUGLIN Dies

Brig. Gen. Harold Q. HUGLIN, 69, retired Air Force officer, died Nov. 24 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Interment was held Dec. 2 at Arlington National Cemetery.

A native of Fairfield, HUGLIN was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. HUGLIN. He had been a resident of St. Petersburg for 13 years. The family home there is at 5298 40th Street South.

HUGLIN was a 1929 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He served in the Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Retired Officers Club and the Military Order of World Wars, both of St. Petersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Desiree; two sons, John of Lincoln, Neb., and Robin of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Judith SPARKS, Woodbridge, Va., and four grand children. One brother, Brig. Gen. Henry HUGLIN, Santa Barbara, Calif., also survives.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harvey. All three HUGLIN brothers were West Point graduates.

Note: Harold was a son of John A. and Clara Lenore PORTER HUGLIN, who are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, in Lot 3rd.014½. This lot includes memorial headstones for Harold and both of his brothers. Harold's wife was Desiree Sylvia COOPER HUGLIN, who died in 2006 and was buried with him at Arlington.
