Robert Brown
November 11, 2005Robert Brown, 98, of Stockport, died Thursday morning, Nov. 10, 2005, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Michael Renken officiating.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with family present from 7-8 p.m. Memorials to Mount Pleasant Old Threshers Foundation may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 2537 Iowa Ave., Mount Pleasant 52641.
Mr. Brown was born Oct. 4, 1907, in Mount Sterling, the son of David and Claudia Merritt Brown. He married Vivian L. Hoskin April 20, 1926, in Keosauqua. She died June 25, 1953. He married Marjorie Johnston Veatch March 24, 1957, in Stockport. She died March 9, 1998. He married Dulcy King Moore May 18, 1998, in Stockport. She died Oct. 17, 2001.
Mr. Brown graduated from Keosauqua High School. He was a farmer and carpenter.
Mr. Brown was a member of Stockport Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Jean Timmerman and husband David of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Phyllis Stark of Elko, Nev.; Joan Altmaier and husband Jim of Mystic; and Valerie Greiner and husband Ron of Missoula, Mont.; 14 step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.
