WILLIAM B. HOLCOMB PASSED AWAY EARLY THIS MORNING

William B. HOLCOMB, well known resident of this city, died about one o'clock this morning at his home on South Third street, following an illness of short duration. The funeral arrangements have not been made, pending word from a son in California.

W. B. HOLCOMB was born in Ohio, Jan. 22, 1850. He moved to Illinois, with his parents when four years of age. He was married to Margaret WORRELL of Kankakee, Ill., 1876, and to this union were born seven children, two of whom have preceeded their father in death.

He moved onto a farm north of the city 23 years ago. For the past 11 years he has been a resident of Fairfield and for a number of years was proprietor of what is now known as the Farmer's Friend Feed Barn.

Mr. HOLCOMB has been a church member since boyhood, first belonging to the Baptist church and in later life joining the Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife and the following children: John A., of Sacramento, Calif.; Harold A., W. P. and Claude W., of Fairfield; Frank L. of Cedar Rapids. One sister, Mrs. J. H. STREET of Sharon, Pa., also survives him.
