FAIRFIELD. -- Mrs. Roy HIX, 65, of 606 West Burlington street, died Monday at 6:45 p.m. at the Jefferson county hospital after an illness of eight years.
She was born December 27, 1888, in Milford, Ill. She was married at Watseka, Ill., February 1, 1907, to Mr. HIX, who survives. They had lived in Fairfield 30 years. She was a member of the First Methodist church.
Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Harley DROZ of Fairfield and Miss Hazel HIX at home; three sons, Kenneth of Fairfield, Clyde of Clinton and Verne of Kansas City; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. C. V. DOUTHART of Stockport; a brother, Warren E. DAVIS of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Mrs. Retta PRUTESMAN (sic) of Birmingham.
The body is at the Behner funeral home, where the service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Dr. L. L. Weis will be in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
