Betty Louise MOSINSKI ROACH was born October 23, 1929, to Adam and Barbara MOSINSKI in Penn Township. She graduated from Brighton High School. Betty married her beloved Maurice U. ROACH on September 10, 1949, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield, IA. They celebrated 65 anniversaries together, a testament to a lifetime of love, commitment, and countless memories.
They began expanding their family when their twin girls were born in 1952. Ultimately, Betty and Maurice raised six children in Fairfield, IA, emphasizing their love of church, family, and education in the arts and sciences. The family were longtime and active members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. When the children were older, Betty pursued her interests in business and managed the accounting for Gobble's Clothing until the store closed. As a valued employee, her attention to detail and strong work ethic were an asset to the long-standing store, located on the west side of the square.
Betty was a wonderful cook and delighted in making her family's favorite dishes. She enjoyed hosting a full table surrounded by family and friends, where laughter and stories were shared over plates of lovingly prepared food.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joyce GITHENS; her husband, Maurice ROACH; and her children Carolyn ROACH and James ROACH.
She is survived by her daughters Marilyn ROACH GRAHAM (Steve), Maureen ROACH ROSS, Marianne ROACH NIENHUIS (Mark), daughter-in-law, Carol McTEE ROACH, and her son John U ROACH (Susan). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
