John HISEL died at his home in this city Saturday night about midnight. He was in his 59th year; came to this county about the year 1859. He spent several years in California for the benefit of his health. He had been in ill health for several years but he had seemed to be improving some until about two weeks before his death. He was a man well spoken of by all. Funeral services were held from his late residence yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Kemble. ...

John HISEL died at his home on South Main street Saturday about midnight, after many months of suffering. He was a son of Antone and Mary HISEL, and was born in the province of Luxemburg, Belgium, February 2d, 1840. He came to the United States when a lad of twelve years and grew to manhood in this county. Nearly all the remainder of his life was spent in this community, although for several years Mr. HISEL was engaged in business enterprises in California. September 12th, 1870, he was married in this county to Susannah WELCH, who survives him. Six children were born of this marriage-- Percy C., John Jay, Walter W., Maud, Edna and Clara May HISEL. Mr. HISEL was a successful farmer and business man, and for a number of years past has been a stockholder and director of the First National bank. He was a man of the highest standing in the community in which he had spent nearly half a century of his life, his reputation clean and pure, his honesty and probity unquestioned. During his protracted illness he and his family had the sympathy of many friends in city and country who will mourn the death of husband and father. Funeral services were held from the family residence Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, condute by Rev. I. O. Kemble. The remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery.

John HISEL died at his home on South Main street early Sunday morning between twelve and one o'clock. He had been in ill health for several years and for the past few months his strength had been steadily failing. Recently it was thought there was some little improvement in his condition but about two weeks ago he was again taken worse. The funeral was held from the late residence Monday afternoon at two o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. I. O. Kemble of the Methodist church. The burial took place in the Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. HISEL was fifty-nine years old and had passed the greater part of his life in this county, where most of his time was spent in farming. Of late years he had been a stockholder and director in the First National Bank. He leaves a wife and six children, all of whom are still at home. They are Percy, Maud, Edna, Jay, May and Walter.
