The Leon Journal announces the death of Mrs. C. A. Gilham in that place Dec 27 at the age of 77 years. Her maiden name was Martha M. Hall, and her parents Mr and Mrs. James Hall, were among the pioneers of Jefferson County, coming here several years before Iowa became a state. Married in this county Dec 23 1853 and removed to Leon two years later. The husband died in 1883.
