William Hamilton Bush died Dec 25 1897. Born near Uniontown, Muskingum County, Ohio 8 Jan. 1822. Married in 1846 Anna Scofield; 5 children, 2 died in infancy. Gilbert and Leonard now live near Kent, Iowa, and Martin lives near the home of this father. In Feb. 1857, the wife and mother died. On 25 July 1859 Mr. Bush was again married to Lydia A. Clapper; 8 children, Strilla, Newton, Robert, George, Emma, now Mrs. Wm. H. Gossick, Elza, Mattie and Nettie. George and Mattie died in infancy. Deceased came to Iowa in 1848, having lived almost all the time on the farm in the home wherein he died. Funeral was held at the home five miles northeast of this city Monday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment in the family cemetery on the farm. (Wheeler Cemetery)
