End Came Sunday to L. J. HERSHBERGER, 75 Years Old, In Los Angeles
L. H. HERSHBERGER, uncle of F. A. SPIELMAN, died Sunday in Los Angeles and was buried there Tuesday, according to word that reached Mr. SPIELMAN here today.
Mr. HERSHBERGER was born near Germanville about 75 years ago and lived in the county all his life until a few years ago when he went west to make his home. He wasa a (sic) tinner by trade and for thirty years was employed by J. A. SPIELMAN, continuing with Gaines Brothers when they took over that business.

His wife was Phoebe Bella STEWART HERSHBERGER, who died in 1938 and was buried on the same lot. There are various spellings of the surname in local records: HERSHBERGER, HIRSHBERGER, HERSCHBERGER, and HIRSCHBERGER; in cemetery records the second spelling was used although the gravestones use the first spelling.
