Charles F. HERRIOTT, a resident of Jefferson county the past 42 years, passed away this morning at his home, 602 West Jefferson Street, following a heart attack earlier this morning.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon, 2 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral Home with Rev. A. P. Keast in charge. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
He was born November 27, 1870, in Illinois and was a member of the Libertyville Methodist church. He moved from southwest of Fairfield to town in 1942.
Survivors are his wife and five children: Clifford of Des Moines; Clyde of Lincoln, Nebraska; Robert, in the Army somewhere in the Philippines; Dale of Ottumwa, route 7; Mrs. Marie RICE of Fairfield; 10 grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters: Miss Maude HERRIOTT of Mahomet, Illinois; Mrs. Louisa DAVIS of Mahomet, Illinois; Thomas of Dewey, Ill.; Joseph of Danville, Ill.; Asher of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

State of Iowa, Jefferson County, ss:TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last will and testament of Charles F. HERRIOTT, deceased is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson County, and that Tuesday, May 8th, A. D., 1945 at 9:30 o'clock A. M. has been set for proof and final hearing of same.
Witness my hand and the seal of said court, this 12th day of April, 1945.

Clyde L. HERRIOTT and son Bruce of Lincoln, Neb., called here by the death of the former's father, C. F. HERRIOTT returned to his home Wednesday accompanied by his mother for a short visit.
Other relatives here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Tom HERRIOTT of Dewey, Illinois; Joe JERRIOTT and son Ervin, Milford, Illinois; Miss Maud HERRIOTT and Mr. J. DAVIS of Mahamot (sic), Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford HERRIOTT and son Gerald, and daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Don RITCHEY of Des Moines and Dale HERRIOTT of Ottumwa.
