Joyce Watier Munson, 66, died Wednesday, October 26 at 2:45 a.m. at her home in Fairfield, Iowa.

The body has been cremated. There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends on Saturday, October 29 at her home at 200 N. 28th Street, #34, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Joyce was born on January 30, 1939 in Oak Park, Illinois to Amedee Watier and Bernice Kesar. She was married to Bill Munson on April 25, 1976. Joyce worked as an executive secretary to deans at the University of Illinois-Chicago Circle and Colorado State University at Pueblo.

She became a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation technique in 1975. In 1993 she became a minister at the Spiritual Healing Center of San Francisco. Joyce had talents in landscaping, interior design, and a special gift for healing herself and others through natural means.

Joyce wanted to express her gratitude to all who loved her and cared for her in so many ways during her illness.

She is survived by her husband, William Munson, of Fairfield, Iowa, her two daughters, Theresa Shafer of Davenport, Florida and Natasha Roembach of Santa Rosa, California, one brother, Amedee Watier of Libertyville, Illinois, and one half sister, Patricia Chameroy of Lincolnwood, Illinois.
