Hiawana T. Swede EMRY

Hiawana T. Swede EMRY, 81, Carlisle, formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, of lung cancer at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial of ashes will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Ms. EMRY was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Moline, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Hazel WILLIAMS HOAGE.

Ms. EMRY was a hair stylist for many years in Fairfield and Brighton.

Survivors include one daughter, Madeline Maggie STEPHENS and husband Jim of Carlisle; two brothers, Jerard HOAGE of Fairfield and Terrell HOAGE of Huntsville, Texas; four grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; and three adopted great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Butch COLLETT; three brothers, Henry Jr., Gene and Lindy HOAGE; and her sister Babe RITZ and spouse Lee EMRY.
