Barbara A. Teeter, 78, of Bonaparte, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, in Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bonaparte United Church, with the Revs. Larry Wagner and Paul Rekward officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the family present from 7-8 p.m. Memorials to Bonaparte United Church may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 24656 Route W-40, Bonaparte 52620.

Mrs. Teeter was born May 17, 1927, in Burlington, the daughter of Glen and Pearl Burgess Baily. She married E.O. Teeter Jr., Feb. 23, 1947, in Mediapolis.

Mrs. Teeter graduated from Mediapolis High School and Burlington Beauty Academy. She grew up in Mediapolis, lived in Fairfield and moved to Bonaparte in 1950. She worked in a beauty shop in Fairfield, operated her own shop in Bonaparte and assisted her husband in the operation of Bonaparte Lumber Company.

She was a member of Bonaparte Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Matthew Teeter and wife Donna, and Robert Teeter and his wife Ruth, all of Bonaparte; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ned Teeter; two sisters, Mary Nelson and Margaret Hackley; and two brothers, Wayne and Robert Baily.
