DEATH CLAIMS PERRY HEFLIN

Perry E. HEFLIN, 84, well known resident of Fairfield, passed away this morning at the Ottumwa hospital where he was taken Friday after he had suffered a stroke at his home, 304 South Main street.

Last rites wil (sic) be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. Curtis R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.

HEFLIN was a former long-time employee of the C. B. & Q. railroad. He worked for that firm for 40 years before he accepted a position at the Dexter company where he was employed for nine years. He retired in 1937.

Born near Batavia on November 23, 1865, he spent practically his entire life in this community. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ruben HEFLIN.

HEFLIN was united in marriage in 1889 to Jennie WILSON who passed away on May 8, 1928. The marriage took place in Fairfield.

In October, 1932, he was united in marriage to Clara CARPENTER who survives. HEFLIN was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Masonic lodge.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Wilson R. HEFLIN, Fairfield; one daughter, Mrs. C. L. PAGE, Ottumwa; and a grandson, Leland H. PAGE, also of Ottumwa.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Viola MORED, Oswego, Ill.; Mrs. Marry CLARY and Mrs. Grace CLARK, both of Agency, Iowa; and one brother, Harry HEFLIN, Des Moines.

NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT OF ADMINISTRATOR

State of Iowa,
Jefferson County, ss.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN,
that the undersigned has been duly appointed and qualified as Administrator of the estate of Perry E. HEFLIN deceased, late of Jefferson County. All persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment and those having claims against the same will present them within legal time, duly authenticated, to the undersigned, for allowance and file in the office of the Clerk of the District court.
