DIED - At the family residence, near Fairfield, Iowa, on Tuesday, Mar. 30, 1886, Sarah Jane, beloved wife of Wm. HEDGE, aged 64 years, 11 months and 10 days. The deceased, whose maiden name was GREENFIELD, was born in and lived for many years Washington county, Pennsylvania. She was married in 1845 to Nathan ULERY, who died in 1849. Two children, the fruit of this union are yet living. In 1855 she was married to Wm. HEDGE to whom she bore four children. Nearly twenty years ago she moved with her husband and family to Iowa, settling on the homestead where she died. Mrs. HEDGE was a woman who made and kept a host of friends. Kind, sympathetic, and tender of heart, she was an angel of mercy and helpfulness in the neighborhood where she dwelt. As a wife and mother her memory will always be precious to the husband and children to whom she was so much devoted. Funeral services were held at the family residence Thursday April 1st, after which the remains were deposited in the new cemetery.
