Died from Old Age.

The death of William HEDGE, an old and highly respected farmer of this county, occurred Saturday at his home 3½ miles north of this city from senile decay(.) Mr. HEDGE was in the 87th year of his age, and his final illness was of two months' duration. He was a native of Pennsylvania, the greater portion of his life being spent in Washington and Greene counties. He has resided in this county 21 years. Deceased was twice married, his second wife dying here about two years ago. He was the father of 15 children, 11 of whom, six sons and five daughters, are now living, all having attained their majority and only four residing in this county. Mr. HEDGE, in every relation of life, was a most excellent man and citizen, and few there are who have more friends and fewer enemies than he. Honest, just and conscientious in his dealings with his fellow men, he bore their highest esteem while living and merits their sorrow at his death. The funeral occurs in this city today, and it is expected that all the children with two exceptions will be able to attend it.
