Mary Ann HAWKINS, wife of James HEDGE, died at their home a short distance north of this city Wednesday. She had been in ill health for nearly six months. Mrs. HEDGE was born in Washington county, Penn., March 21st, 1840, grew to womanhood and was married there January 23d, 1862. She was the mother of six children, all of whom are living. The family came to this county in 1868 and has since resided here. Mrs. HEDGE was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and a conscientious, christian woman. All the later years of her life were spent north of this city, and no woman in the community had a greater share of its love and affection than she. The remains were interred in this city Friday, Rev. I. O. Kemble conducting the funeral services.
