INMATE OF COUNTY HOME DIED THIS MORNING.

James HEDGE passed away this morning at the County Home, death being due to old age. The funeral arrangements have not been made yet.

LIFE OF JAMES HEDGE

James HEDGE was born in Green county, Pennsylvania, December 23, 1833, and died May 29th, 1918, being at the time of his death 84 years, 5 months and 6 days of age.

He was united in marriage to Mary A. HAWKENS (sic - HAWKINS), in January, 1861, she preceeding him in death July 3rd, 1899 (sic - 1901). To this union was born six children, Ellsworth of Fairfield, Neb., McClelland, of Morris, Mont., William of Fairfield, Ia., Frank of Tieton, Wash., Mrs. Joseph WERNER of Fairfield, Ia., and Boyd E. of Haglar, Neb., all of whom survive him.

He was a faithful member of the Methodist church for more than half a century. The funeral services were held at the F. D. Kerrick Parlors Friday morning at 10:30, being conucted by Rev. P. S. Apfel of the Methodist Circuit church.

HEDGE

James HEDGE, an old and well known resident of this county, died Wednesday of last week at the age of eighty-four. His death was due to the infirmities of age.

Mr. HEDGE was born in Pennsylvania, but came to Iowa in 1868 and has made his home here continuously since that time, living north of Fairfield for a number of years. He is survived by the following si children (sic): Ellsworth, of aFirfield, Neb. (sic); William and Mrs. Joseph WERNER, near this city; McClelland, of Roise, Idaho (sic); Frank, of Tieton, Wash.o Boyd (sic), of Hagler, Neb. The following brothers and sisters also survive: D. B. HEDGE, near Fairfield; John, of Hastings, Neb. Mrs. C. H. SAYRES, Central City, Neb.; Mrs. T. J. INGHAM, Omaha.

Funeral servicese were held on Friday at the Kerrick undertaking rooms, conducted by Rev. P. S. Apfel.
