MRS. D. B. HEDGE PASSES AWAY

Funeral Services Will Be Held Wednesday Afternoon At Pleasant Grove Church

Mrs. D. B. HEDGE passed away at 5:15 oclock this morning at her home three miles north of the city after several years illness with diabetes. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 oclock from the Pleasant Grove church conducted by Rev. Harvey F. Butler. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. HEDGE has been a resident of this county for the past fifty years and would have been seventy years old today. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Roy JEWELL residing one mile north of the city. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters, Melvin, Chris and David BLOUGH, all living southeast of the city, Mrs. Theodore DuBOIS and Mrs. Anna STANFORD, city.

MRS. D. B. HEDGE RITES YESTERDAY

Were Held From the Pleasant Grove Church and Were Largely Attended

The last rites for Mrs. D. B. HEDGE, who passed away Monday morning at her home three miles north of the city ,were (sic) held yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Pleasant Grove Methodist chruch (sic). Rev. Harvey E. Butler conducted the services in the presence of many relatives and friends.

The pall bearers were all nephews of the deceased, and were as follows: John DuBOIS, Leo BLOUGH, Everett BLOUGH, John BLOUGH, Ronald BLOUGH, and Leland BLOUGH. Mrs. Edgar McIntire, Burdette Rodgers, Mrs. Ralph Parrish and William Summers with Leland Holgate at the piano sang the songs. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.

OBITUARY

MRS. D. B. HEDGE

Elizabeth BLOUGH, daughter of Henry D. and Anna BAUGHMAN BLOUGH was born in Davis County, Iowa, Oct. 3rd, 1857 and departed this life on the morning of Oct. 3rd, 1927 having reached her seventieth birthday.

On Sept. 14, 1898 she was united in marriage with David B. HEDGE who with their only daughter, Mrs. Roy JEWELL survive her.

She is also survived by the following sisters and brothers, all of whom are residents of the Fairfield community. Mrs. Mary DuBOIS, Mrs. A. L. STANFORD David, J. M. and C. N. BLOUGH, a step-son Charles W. HEDGE of Brighton, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Three brother, namely, Simon, John and Eli having preceded her in death.

At an early age she became a member of the Fairfield Presbyterian church, where she held her membership until after her marriage when it was transfered to the Methodist church at Pleasant Grove, ever proving a faithful member of the same.

She has been in poor health for about six years. This spring she was quite ill and recovered so that she was able to care for her home. Through all her illness she has been very courageous, not allowing herself to be overcome by her illness depending on her faith in God and his goodness to carry her through.

Last Friday she was taken ill while preparing dinner and confined to her bed. Saturday she sat in a chair for some time and on Monday morning at 5:15 oclock, the 70th. anniversary of her birth, she departed this life to be with her Lord. She had lived the alloted 3 score and ten years. She was devoted to her husband, daughter, home and church.

Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Grove Methodist church, Wednesday, October 5th, 1927 at 1:30 p.m. conducted by her pastor, Rev Harvey E. Butler. Interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery.
