D. B. HEDGE DIED THIS MORNING

Well Known Jefferson County Farmer Is Summoned

David B. HEDGE, well known Jefferson county farmer, passed away at his home near here at 4:10 o'clock this morning as the result of a stroke which he suffered September 5, 1930. He has been in failing health ever since.

He was born June 20, 1858 and sixty-two years ago Mr. HEDGE and his parents moved to a farm three miles north of Fairfield where he has since made his home. He is survived by two children, Charles W. HEDGE of Brighton and Mrs. Roy JEWELL of Fairfield. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Emma SAYERS of Centra City (sic), Neb., and Mrs. Jennie INGHRAM of Omaha, Neb., also a cousin, Mrs. Lucy WARNER (sic - WERNER) of Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Pleasant Grove church in charge of Rev. W. W. Pool and Rev. J. C. Porath. Interment in Evergreen cemetery.

DAVID BRADEN HEDGE

David Braden HEDGE, son of William and Sarah HEDGE was born in Washington Co. Penn on June 20, 1858, and moved with his parents to Iowa, coming by way of the Ohio River, then to Burlington, and on to the present HEDGE farm, arriviing (sic) on April 6 1868, and has lived there continuously for 63 years.

On July 10, 1889 he was united in marriage with Miss Adelia L. JONES of near Brighton, Ia. To this union was born a son, Charles W. HEDGE, who survives. Darks angel having called the wife and mother on Sept. 16th 1892, leaving the little son at 14 months of age.

On Sept. 14th 1898 he was married to Miss Elizabeth BLOUGH, and their daughter Mrs. Frieda JEWELL, survives, Mrs. HEDGE having passed away on October 3, 1927.

There are also left to mourn his passing. A little grandson Richard Roy JEWELL, two sisters, Mrs. Charles SAYERS of Central City, Neb. and Mrs. F. C. INGHRAM of Omaha. A niece Mrs. Lucy WARNER (sic) of Fairfield and a number of nieces and nephews in Nebraska, including Mr. Elsworth HEDGE of Fairfield, Neb.

For a number of years Mr. HEDGE has held a membership in the Pleasant Grove church.

On Sept. 5th, 1930, while in apparently good health he was stricken with paralysis and since that time has been steadily failing until he answered the final summons on Tuesday morning, April 28, 1931.

Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Grove church on Thursday April 30 at 2:00 in charge of Rev. W. W. Pool assisted by Rev. John C. Porath. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery.
