Page 3, Column 2John HEATER, a resident of Iowa since 1855, died at his home in this city Thursday night. He had been ill with dropsy for several months. Mr. H. was a native of Ohio and was in the eighty-second year of his age. He was married to Miss C. J. CARTWRIGHT at Youngstown, that state, in 1837, and his aged wife survives him. Ten children were born to them, six of whom are now living. The remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery Saturday morning, Rev. G. F. Reinking conducting the funeral services.

John HEATER, a resident of this county for some years, died at his home near the "Q" depot last Thursday. Mr. HEATER was born in Ravenua, Ohio, March 18th, 1813. He was united in marriage in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1837, with Miss C. J. CARTWRIGHT, afterwards removing to Pennsylvania where they lived until 1855, when they came to this state. They located at New London, Henry county, and continued to reside there about ten years. About the year 1865 they moved to Parsonsville, this county, where they lived until their removal to this city in 1890. Ten children were the result of this union, six of whom are still living, as follows. Mrs. Philo PARMALE, of Des Moines, Mrs. C. MILLER and Mrs. A. SIMONS, both of this city, Austin HEATER, of Helena, Mont., Edward HEATER, of Sims, Mont., David HEATER, of Butte, Montana.
Since 1890 Mr. and Mrs. HEATER have made their home in this city and part of the time have kept a hotel near the "Q" depot where Mr. HEATER died.
Mr. HEATER was a man respected and admired for his sterling integrity. He was honorable in all dealings with his fellow man, a kind husband, good father, and died with full faith in his redeemer.
The funeral took place from the family residence Saturday morning at nine o'clock. Deceased was 81 years old. The members of the family desire to extend their heartfelt thanks for the sympathy extended by their friends.
