Jessie HEATER

KEOSAUQUA -- Jessie M. HEATER, 82, of Keosauqua died at 1:35 p.m March 7, 1992, at Van Buren County Hospital.

She was born Jan. 27, 1910, near Moberly, Mo., to Hubert and Edna PURDY EDWARDS. She married Clyde HEATER on Jan. 16, 1933, in Moberly, Mo. He died April 23, 1976.

She graduated from Moberly High School and taught in rural Missouri schools. She and her husband farmed in Henry and Jefferson counties and lived several years in Fairfield. She moved to Keosauqua in 1977. She was a member of First Christian Church in Fairfield and Fairfield Rebekah Lodge No. 96.

She is survived by a son, Richard of Keosauqua; two stepdaughters, Esther PEEBLER of Agency and Margaret SIEBERT of Twain Hart, Calif.; two granddaughters; 12 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 16 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three half-brothers, Col. (ret.) T.R. EDWARDS of Huntsville, Ala., H.K. EDWARDS of Moberly, W.D. EDWARDS of Kansas City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, an infant twin brother, an infant sister and a stepgrandson.

The service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Keosauqua Public Library and may be left at the funeral home.
