Wilson "Willie" Arch STARNES Sr., 72, of Fairfield, IA passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Hospice House in Ottumwa, IA (note: in Wapello Co., IA). As were his wishes, cremation has taken place with no services to be held at this time. Memorial contributions in Willie's honor may be directed to the family and mailed c/o Cranston Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 189, Fairfield, IA 52556. Wilson Arch STARNES Sr. was born on November 21, 1951, to Winford and Lois SCOTTON STARNES. He attended school in Van Buren before leaving school to begin working. Willie married the love of his life, Patricia MARTIN in 1970. This began a journey together that lasted over 50 years. Together they were the loving parents to three children: Anna Marie, Michelle, and Wilson Jr. Willie spent several years working in factories in Fairfield before returning to Indian Hills for his truck driving certification. This began a 40-year career as an over the road truck driver. Willie put on millions of miles making sure cargo reached its destination. He made many trips to California and back throughout his career.

When he wasn't traveling the roads of the United States he enjoyed spending time with his family. Fishing on the river with his brothers was always a favorite pastime. Willie was a collector of NASCAR memorabilia including replica racecars and had an extensive stamp collection. Willie recently received Jesus as his Savior and was baptized. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Barb HUDDLESTON and Charley STARNES.

Lef to honor his memory are his loving wife, Patricia STARNES of Fairfield, IA; three children, Anna Marie (Mike) HERRING of Luray, MO, Michelle (Felisto) GUEZIMANE of Fairfield, IA and Wilson STARNES Jr. of Fairfield, IA; two grandchildren, Austin LAUDERMAN and Trevor STARNES; one great-granddaughter, Carsyn STARNES, a brother, Winnie STARNES (Diane CARR), as well as many extended family and friends.
