Crash Fatal To Emery HAVNER

PERRY (AP) -- Emery D. HAVNER, 45, former Fairfield resident, died at a Perry hospital early Tuesday as a result of injuries received Monday in a highway crash.

HAVNER was employed at a Perry foundary. He was involved in a one-car accident on Iowa 144 near Angus in Boone county.

Authorities said HAVNER apparently lost control of his eastbound car as it approached a curve. The vehicle rolled about 300 feet and HAVNER was hurled some 50 feet in front of the wreckage.

He was Boone county's 15th motor vehicle fatality of the year.

HAVNER was employed at the Dexter plant in Fairfield from 1943 to 1953. He is survived by a wife and two children. The body is at Weston Behner Funeral home in Fairfield. Arrangement are pending (sic).

He is the son of Mrs. Clarence HAVNER, 203½ W. Jefferson.
