ANDREW HAVNER ATTEMPTS SUICIDE THIS MORNING

Andrew HAVNER, 66, attempted to kill himself with a 22 calibre rifle at 4:30 this morning at his home in the West End Addition. The shot entered his forehead, but did not prove fatal. A doctor was sumoned and he was taken to the Jefferson county hospital. Insanity was given as the cause of the shooting.

Shortly before noon today Deputy Sheriff Lawrence Roth took Mr. HAVNER to the State Hospital at Mt. Pleasant.

HAVNER RITES 3:30 TOMORROW

Life Time Resident of Iowa Passed Away Saturday Night

Funeral services for Andrew HAVNER, who passed away at 11:45 Saturday night, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 oclock from the Hoskins Funeral home with interment in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. HAVNER was born March 5, 1865 in Iowa. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Henry HARPER, Mrs. Arthur CRAFTON, Mrs. Charles ADLER (sic - EDLER) and William HAVNER of Fairfield, one brother, George HAVNER of Fairfield and one sister, Mrs. Rosa MORRISON of L'Fors, Tex., also twelve grandchildren.

Three children preceded him in death.

ANDREW HAVENER (sic)

Andrew HAVNER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi HAVNER, who passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 20, had been in ill health for several years. He was born in Lee county, March 5, 1865, being at the time of his death 66 years, 11 months and 14 days of age. He had spent his entire life in Iowa.

He was married to Miss Ette HECKETHORNE (sic - HECKETHORN), June 29, 1890, at B rmingham, Iowa (sic). To this union were born seven children, Mrs. Henry HARPER, Mrs. Arthur CRAFTON, Mrs. Clarles EDLER, and William HAVNER, three children, Mrs. Nova HARPER, Zelda and Lily having preceded him in death. He is also survived by one sister Rosa, at Lefars, Texas, and one brother, George, of Fairfield. He will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the Hoskins Funeral Home in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Burrows, February 23, 1932. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
