Page TWO, Column 7Etta Viola HAVNER Dies This Morning
Etta Viola HAVNER, 67, former Fairfield resident passed away at one o'clock last night at Sunnyslope Sanitarium Ottumwa, after a failing illness for the last several years (note: in Wapello Co., IA).
She had been bedfast for the last nine months and went to the Sanitarium on August 29.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry HARPER, Mrs. Ada CRAFTON and Mrs. Charles EDLER, and one son, William HAVNER, all of Fairfield, and by fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Her husband died six years ago. Mrs. HAVNER was born in Iowa on March 3, 1871.
Funeral services will be held at the Hoskins Funeral Home at two o'clock p.m., Wednesday, in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Etta HAVNER was born March 3, 1871. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Worth HECKATHORNE. She passed quietly away at 1 a.m., September 13, 1938 at Sunnyslope Hospital, Ottumwa, Ia., at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 10 days.
Mrs. HAVNER has been in failing health for some time. She was a Christian woman and faithful attendant to her church, till she became too ill to attend.
She was united in marriage to Andrew HAVNER in Birmingham, Iowa, on June 29, 1890. He passed away 6 years ago. To the union were born seven children, three of whom preceded her in death. They were Lily Eva who died in infancy on Jan. 16, 1893, Zelda Mamie who died when 13 years of age on Feb. 15, 1921 and Mrs. Delilah HARPER who died May 7, 1924.
She leaves to mourn their loss three daughters, Mrs. Henry HARPER, Mrs. Arthur CRAFTON and Mrs. Charles ELDER (sic - EDLER) and one son William HAVNER, all of Fairfield. Besides these, 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren survive her. Four sisters and two brothers survive, they are Mrs. Ollie SHONDEL of Centerville, Mrs. Annie SHONDEL of Fairfield, Mrs. Lulu PARDE of Springfield, Ill., Mrs. Zena PIERSON of Springfield, Ill,. Henry HECKATHORNE of Fairfield and Norris HECKATHORNE of California. Besides these a wide circle of relatives and friends will mourn her passing. A god neighbor and friend, patient in her suffering and always helpful to others she will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held at the Hoskins Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon conducted by S. P. Williamson, minister of the First Christian Church. The hymns "Going Down the Valley," "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle" weer (sic) sung by Mrs. S. P. Williamson with Miss Reva Patten at the piano. The remains were interred in Evergreen Cemetery.
