Steven F. "Red" Joslin, 57, of Mount Zion, died at 4:22 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, in the emergency room of Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The body has been cremated. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Forbes Cemetery, north of Keosauqua, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mailed to the family at 22878 179th St., Keosauqua 52565-8204.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Joslin was born Nov. 9, 1947, in Anamosa, the son of Perry and Clara Easterly Joslin. He married Jean Bemrose. They divorced. He married Sally Switzer Bemrose Feb. 14, 1984, in Coos Bay, Ore.

Mr. Joslin lived in Anamosa and Litchfield, Ky., and moved to Mount Zion in 1992. He worked as a machinist at Energy Manufacturing Company in Monticello, as a hod carrier in the construction of Wal-Mart stores in Kentucky and later as a flagger on road construction projects.

Mr. Joslin was a methodist.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Clifford Joslin in Tennessee; one daughter, Loretta Lynn of Spencer; three stepdaughters, Amy, April and Abby, all of the Kansas City, Mo. area; five grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; one brother, Allen Joslin of Maquoketa; two sisters, Linda Reed of Marion, Nancy Nance of Spirit Lake; and two half-brothers, James Grimm of Olin and Virgil Grimm of Madrid, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepson, Adam Bemrose; one sister, Kathleen Norris; and one half-sister, Beverly Ellison.
