Mary E. HARRIS Taken In Death

Death came last night to Mary E. HARRIS, well-known Fairfield resident and retiredbusiness woman (sic).

She passed away at 7:05 p.m. at the Jefferson county hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. She was taken to the hospital after suffering a stroke.

Last rites will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond funeral home with Dr. J. Henry Teele in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mary E. HARRIS, 74, was born Aug. 16, 1886, at Shippesburg Pa. the daughter of John and Anna BRECKENMAKER HARRIS. She moved to this community with the family when a small girl and attended the Fairfield public schools and Parsons college. She had been a resident of Fairfield for the past 71 years.

She was in the restaurant business for a number of years before her retirement, and she was a member of the First Methodist church.

Miss HARRIS is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
