OBITUARY.

Editors Ledger:--Mrs. HARPER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph HUDBEL, died at her home, three miles southwest of Fairfield, February 4th, after an illness of four weeks. Much of the time during her illness she was delirious and unconscious of her suffering. She leaves a husband, a father and mother, four brothers, one sister, and many dear friends to mourn her loss. While she is lost to us, and we weep and shed tears of sorrow, she is robed in garments of white and is singing songs of celestial joy. We have loved the light of many a smile that has faded now; a voice that is now hushed in death, a place vacant in an earthly home. Her last rational moments, when the chilly fingers of death were stealing gently over her, were spent in singing and prayer. Having grown so weak that she could scarcely be understood, God, who alone can give strength in a dying hour, gave her strength, and in tones clear and sweet she sang several beautiful hymns. We believe as she sang, "Far whiter than snow," that her robes were washed whiter than snow. Then let us say, "Thou didst give and Thou hast taken. Blessed Lord, Thy will be done."
