HARPER INFANT DIED SATURDAY

Melvin Rodger HARPER, who was born July 30, 1934, died Saturday morning in this city. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nova HARPER, and is survived by the following brothers and sisters: James, Lawrence; (Bessie, Mildred; Velma; Hubert; Jenice. The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home, and the burial services were held Saturday afternoon at Evergreen Cemetry (sic) in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson.

Note: Buried in Lot SDiv.2-019. Initially buried without a gravestone however individual stones were laid for him and two of his siblings sometime after 1990. His middle name is noted on his gravestone as 'Roger', but on his Death Certificate it's spelled 'Rodger'; a birth certificate was not found in Ancestry's collection for him. He was the son of Nova Edward HARPER Sr. and second wife Ethel E. J. HINES HARPER.
