DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER

Death came early Sunday morning to Mrs. A. P. HARPER, life-long resident of the Fairfield community. She passed away at 2:18 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Evelyn SHAFFER, 611 E. Broadway.

Mrs. HARPER had been in failing health the past 4½ years and bedfast for the past nine weeks.

Last rites will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with the Rev. G. J. Dingman in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Margaret L. HARPER, 67, was born September 2, 1885 (sic - 1883), in Jefferson County, Ia., the daughter of the late George and Valinda (sic - Philinda) REED. She was united in marriage on Feb. 20, 1900 (sic - 1901) to A. P. HARPER who survives. The wedding took place in Fairfield.

A member of the Free Methodist church, Mrs. HARPER spent her entire life in the Fairfield community. The family home is now located one mile north of the city.

Besides her husband, Mrs. HARPER is survived by the following children: Dave, Sterling, Illinois; Claud, Rock Falls, Illinois; Rex Roscoe, Illinois; Mrs. Bonnie SAMUELSON, Stockton, Iowa; Robert, Durant, Iowa; Mrs. Madge McINTIRE, Hugo, Eugene, Mrs. Tina HALSEY, and Mrs. Evelyn SHAFFER, all of Fairfield.

She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Frank SIMMONS and Mrs. Will LEATHERS, both of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, one daughter, two sisters and a brother.
