Had Been A Resident of Fairfield For Thirty-Seven Years
John HAMMON passed away this morning at 6 clock at the University hospital at Iowa City following an operation (note: in Johnson Co., IA.). The body is being brought here this afternoon by auto. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
Mr. HAMMON was born in Bavaria, January 17, 1866. He came to this country when a young man and settled in Chicago, later coming to Iowa. He has been a resident of city 37 years.
He was married to Miss Mary ACKERMAN, May 30, 1889.
He is survived by his wife and the following children, Helen, Richard and Bernard at home, Mrs. NOWLIN of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Kenneth KENDRICK, Seattle, Wash., George of Chicago, and Jim of this city.

Services Will Be Held At St. Mary's Church With Four Priests Officiating
Funeral services for John HAMMON, Fairfield's pioneer tailor who died in the University hospital at Iowa City Saturday, will be held at St. Mary's church tomorrow morning at 9 oclock. They will be in charge of Rev. E. F. Gaule, the pastor, assisted by three other priests.
Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Host of Friends Pay Their Last Tribute To Old Citizen Here Today
Funeral services for John HAMMON, held this morning at St. Mary's church, were attended by a host of friends come to pay their last tribute to this well known citizen.
The services were held at 9 oclock and were in charge of Rev. Father E. F. Gaule who celebrated the solemn requiem high mass and was assisted by Father Miles Gafney of Mt. Pleasant and Father Richard Maher of Ottumwa.
Mrs. Leo O'Neill sang as solo "No Night There," and Charles Slattery, "Face to Face'.'
The ushers were Lyle Barns and Charles Russell.
Out-of-town friends present for the services were: Rev. Father H. L. Hogan of Ottumwa, John J. Teeter of Burlington, A. J. Hayes of Chicago, Mrs. George Walters and Miss Josephine Wise of Eldon, Mrs. Elizabeth Beck of Chicago, and Mrs. E. Dollar and daughter Eulalia and Mrs. Viola DuRee of Ottumwa.
The floral tributes sent by friends here and at a distance were elaborate and at the home almost filled the large living room.

To All Whom It May Concern:
Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Jacob HAMMON, deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson County and that October 20th, A. D. 1926 at 9 oclock a.m., it being the 15th day of October Term, 1926 of said Court, has been set for proof and final hearing of same.
Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 30th day of September, 1926.
