Born in Fairfield on August 2, 1933, to proud parents Floyd and Rachel HELPHREY SPEER, Barbara's journey started in the same town where it concluded. She attended and graduated from Fairfield Community School in 1951. In her early years, Barbara's life blossomed as she married Sam KELLER, with whom she brought seven children into the world. Although Sam and Barbara later divorced, she continued to nurture her family with love and devotion. She later found love again and married Harold "Windy" JAMISON in April of 1986, with whom she shared many cherished moments until his passing.

As a dedicated homemaker, Barbara poured her heart into raising her children, but as they grew older, she entered the workforce. Barbara worked as a receptionist at Iowa Malleable Iron Company for many years before it closed. Subsequently, she began working as an event coordinator for Fairfield Best Western, and she even ran her own home interior business.

Barbara's passion for creativity was evident in her hobbies of quilting, crocheting, and sewing. Her gooseberry pie stood as a highlight of the church auction. Always fetching top dollar due to its legendary status. Her love of golf boasted a note-worthy achievement with an impressive hole-in-one. She invested herself fully in her interests, leaving a legacy of beautiful, handcrafted quilts for her family to cherish.

Her engagement with the community was as much a part of Barbara's life as her family and friends. Volunteering with the Friends of Birmingham, she helped restore the Birmingham Log Cabin amongst other projects. She was also a familiar and caring presence through her work with Meals on Wheels. Further extending her love of social engagement, Barbara was an active member of the Red Hat Society and the former Birmingham United Methodist Church.

Barbara's memory will live on through her children, Robert (Connie) KELLER, Patty (Roger) HARDWARD, Dawn (Kevin) BENTZINGER, Mike (Tammy) KELLER, Mary KLEIN, Jody GUNN, and Julie (Doug) HORRAS; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two siblings, Verna SHANNON and Don SPEER.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents, Floyd and Rachel, her daughter Susan MUNTZ, an infant son, David Lee KELLER, and three siblings, Robert, Beryl, and Wilma.
