Marjorie HAMMER dies

Marjorie HEATON HAMMER, 84, former Fairfield resident, died Saturday in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The body was cremated. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 30 in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Kincaid officiating. A memorial has been established to the Jefferson County Historical society. Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. HAMMER was born April 17, 1901 in Fairfield, the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth HEALD HEATON. She was reared and educated in Fairfield. In 1927 she married Averill J. HAMMER. She was a member of the Presbyterian church at Bowling Green and the University Faculty Women.

Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth SNYDER of Villa Park, Ill.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy BLAIR of Des Moines. Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.045 with husband Averill. Her birth year is noted on her gravestone as 1900, however according to Jefferson County Births she was born in 1901.
