Front Page, Column 5HAMMANS FUNERAL WAS THIS AFTERNOON
Funeral services for Philip Francis HAMMANS, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. HAMMANS, 504 West Madison street, who died Friday at Ames after a fortnight's illness, are being held this afternoon at four o'clock at the Methodist church.
The services are in charge of Dr. C. L. Tennant, pastor of that church, and interment is at Evergreen cemetery. The pallbearers are: Cecil Tighe, Frank Gibson, Byron West Gilmer Fustel, Glen Theon and Bennie West, all high school mates of the dead boy.
The body was brought here from Ames by automobile, F. D. Kerrick and Herbert Atherton making the trip from here for that purpose. They left Friday and got as far as Pella, seventy miles that day. Saturday they went on to Ames and then came back the 156 miles, arriving here at 3 A. M. yesterday. The whole trip was made through the mud.

Francis HAMMANS, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. HAMMANS, South D street, died last Friday at Ames, where he was attending school after two weeks illness with typhoid fever. The body was brought back to this city by Undertaker Kerrick, who made the trip by auto. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon and interment made in Evergreen cemetery.
