Llewellyn HAMM Dies In Council Bluffs

Word has been received here of the death of Llewellyn HAMM, former resident of Fairfield who passed away early today at a nursing home in Council Bluffs, Iowa (note: in Pottawattamie Co., IA).

The body will be returned to Fairfield for last rites and burial.

He was taken to the nursing home in Council Bluffs only recently following the death of his wife so he could be near his son, Wesley, who resides in Omaha.

HAMM RITES ON THURSDAY

Funeral services for Llewellyn HAMM, who died Monday in Council Bluffs, will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Free Methodist church.

Last rites will be conducted by the Rev. G. J. Dingman and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

HAMM died at the Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs after a long illness. He was taken to a Council Bluffs nursing home a week earlier to be near his son, Wesley HAMM, who resides in Omaha. His body was scheculed to arrive in Fairfield today where it will be taken to the Weston Behner funeral home.

HAMM was born March 12, 1871 in Greene county, the son of Mary MERWIN and Harrison M. HAMM. He married Leona Pearle GADDIS in Fairfield April 12, 1916. She preceded him in death February 3.

HAMM was a member of the Free Methodist church and had been a resident of Fairfield for 45 years.

Survivors include two children, Wesley HAMM, Omaha, and Mrs. Margaret ROPER, Corpus Christi, Texas. Two sisters, Mrs. Irena ANDREWS, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Helena BUSH, Canton, Mo., and six grandchildren also survive.
