Page Eight, Column 1DEATH TAKES H. D. GRISSOM
Harry D. GRISSOM, 74, well know (sic) retired Jefferson county farmer, passed away about 5:15 a.m. this morning at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been seriously ill the past two weeks.
Last rites will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. GRISSOM was born January 15, 1874, in Fulton county, Missouri, the son of the late Jerome and Elizabeth GRISSOM. He had lived in Jefferson county over 40 years, moving to Fairfield several years ago from a farm east of the city.
He was united in marriage January 19, 1926, to Edith SPEER, who survives. Mr. GRISSOM was a member of the Modern Woodman (sic - Woodmen) lodge.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clarence SIRDOREUS, Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Arch THOMAS, Peoria, Ill.; and Mrs. Nellie HAGAN, Ottumwa; two brothers, H. T. GRISSOM, Fairfield; and Edward GRISSOM, Astoria, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Jefferson County, ss.To All Whom It May Concern:
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED, That an instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of H. D. GRISSOM, deceased, dated June 24, 1947, having been this day filed, opened and read, Monday the 22nd day of November, 1948, is fixed for hearing proof of same at the Court House in Fairfield, Iowa, before the District Court of said County, or the Clerk of said Court, and at 9:30 o'clock A.M., of the day above mentioned all persons interested are hereby notified and required to appear, and show cause, if any they have, why said instrument should not be probated and allowed as and for the last Will and Testament of said deceased.
